Zelenskyy Says Ukraine Won’t Accept Peace Built on Russian Terms

Ukraine is refusing a US-backed peace proposal that mirrors several Kremlin demands. Zelenskyy said the country faces extraordinary pressure to accept the deal by Thanksgiving. The agreement requires major territorial concessions.
Trump said Ukraine “should accept something” or continue fighting. He believes Ukraine cannot defend the Donbas region. Ukrainian officials called the plan humiliating.
Zelenskyy warned that accepting the deal means sacrificing sovereignty. Winter is approaching, and Russian strikes continue to destroy energy grids. Refusing the deal may bring additional hardship.
He promised to protect Ukraine’s constitution and national dignity. He said peace must be lasting and not vulnerable to the next Russian attack. He vowed that Ukraine would not surrender.
European allies said the US plan threatens global norms and stability. They said peace must incorporate Ukraine’s needs.
