Vietnam and France Boost Tech Collaboration in Strategic Partnership Expansion

In a bid to enhance their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Vietnam and France have pledged to deepen collaboration across various sectors including diplomacy, trade, defense, energy, technology, and infrastructure. High-level discussions in Hanoi saw both nations reviewing the progress of their bilateral relations and committing to expedite the execution of their partnership action plan.

Vietnam emphasized the importance of bolstering cooperation in areas such as defense, cybersecurity, and nuclear energy. It also highlighted the need for joint efforts in science and technology, critical minerals, and major infrastructure initiatives. Furthermore, Vietnam urged France to quicken the ratification process of the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and to continue advocating for the lifting of the European Union’s “yellow card” restriction on Vietnamese seafood exports.

France, identifying Vietnam as a key strategic partner in the Asia-Pacific region, expressed its intent to broaden cooperation with Vietnam in several areas. These include nuclear energy, rare earths, and satellite technology, along with advancements in transportation infrastructure, healthcare, and cultural exchanges.

Both nations committed to enhancing coordination on regional and international matters, underscoring the importance of multilateralism, dialogue, and sustainable development. France’s recognition of Vietnam’s strategic importance in the Asia-Pacific further cements the mutual interest in fostering stronger bilateral ties.

This renewed commitment from both countries reflects their shared goals of economic growth and regional stability, positioning their partnership as a cornerstone for future collaborative efforts on pressing global issues.
