APEC Economies Propel MSME Digital Innovation in Vietnam’s AI Age

Vietnam is actively collaborating with other member economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) to enhance the digital transformation of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). This initiative focuses on embracing artificial intelligence (AI) to bolster productivity and competitiveness among these businesses.

At a recent APEC workshop held in Hanoi, Vietnamese officials underscored the necessity of aiding MSMEs through technology transfer, the development of digital skills, and fostering innovation. The gathering attracted representatives from various APEC economies, international organizations, and prominent tech companies, aiming to deliberate on AI integration, digital infrastructure, financial access, and bridging the digital divide.

The workshop also forms a crucial aspect of Vietnam’s strategic preparations for hosting APEC in 2027. Participants are encouraged to formulate policy recommendations that advocate for the responsible use of AI and to enhance regional cooperation within the digital economy.

By focusing on these areas, the workshop seeks to provide a platform for stakeholders to exchange insights and strategies that can drive the digital evolution of MSMEs across the region. This collaborative effort aims to ensure that these enterprises are well-equipped to leverage digital tools and AI, ultimately leading to sustained economic growth and competitiveness within the APEC community.
