Vietnam, Laos Enhance Anti-Corruption Efforts with Innovative Governance Technologies

Vietnamese Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng has lauded the strong collaboration between Vietnam and Laos in the realms of inspection, auditing, and anti-corruption. This commendation came during a meeting in Hanoi with Vanhxay Phongsavanh, a senior official from Laos, where both nations underscored their commitment to bolstering these crucial areas as they aim to achieve new developmental milestones.

The discussions between the two countries emphasized the importance of enhancing national governance, maintaining discipline, and increasing transparency. Prime Minister Hưng highlighted the necessity of tackling corruption, waste, and other detrimental practices to foster a more robust administrative framework. He advocated for increased exchanges of expertise, personnel training, and collaborative efforts in managing complaints, improving institutional frameworks, and strengthening systems of inspection and supervision.

Moreover, both Vietnam and Laos agreed on the need to improve their coordination in identifying and addressing cases that involve cross-border elements. They also plan to expand the use of information technology and digital transformation in their inspection and auditing processes, which is seen as a vital step in modernizing and enhancing their capabilities in these areas.

In their shared commitment, both sides reaffirmed the importance of implementing existing cooperation agreements. They also expressed a strong desire to further strengthen the longstanding relationship that exists between Vietnam and Laos, emphasizing the mutual benefits that arise from their continued partnership.
