Vietnam’s President To Lam Explores Tech Innovations on Singapore Visit

Vietnamese President To Lam embarked on a significant four-day state visit to Singapore starting on May 28, with the goal of enhancing bilateral relations and furthering the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership set to be established by the two nations in 2025.

During his visit, President To Lam is scheduled to engage in discussions with key Singaporean leaders, including President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. These meetings are anticipated to concentrate on boosting economic ties, fostering investment opportunities, and expanding cooperation in technology and regional matters.

A notable event during President Lam’s visit is his keynote speech at the Shangri-La Dialogue. This address marks a significant moment as it is his first major international statement on Vietnam’s foreign policy since he took office in April 2026. This platform offers President Lam an opportunity to articulate Vietnam’s strategic international goals and perspectives.

The visit also highlights the collaboration between Vietnam and Singapore in the fields of science, technology, and innovation, particularly through the Vietnam-Singapore Tech Connect Initiative. This partnership aims to drive digital transformation and progress in both countries. Additionally, efforts are underway to advance the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP 2.0), focusing on the integration of smart technologies, sustainability practices, and green development to lure high-value investments.

This visit underscores the strengthening strategic and economic alliance between the two countries, as both Vietnam and Singapore are eager to deepen their cooperation across various sectors, reflecting a mutual commitment to future growth and development.
