Thailand is bracing for a period of increased rainfall from October 5 to 8, with the Northeast and northern regions expected to experience the most significant uptick in precipitation. This change in weather is attributed to shifting monsoon patterns and winds affecting the Andaman Sea, the Gulf of Thailand, and nearby areas.
In addition to heavier rains, cooler temperatures are anticipated in parts of the Northeast, signaling a shift in the seasonal weather pattern. While upper Thailand may see a temporary decrease in showers, isolated thunderstorms remain a possibility.
The forecast also warns of heavy rain in southern Thailand, which may exacerbate flooding risks in areas already burdened by accumulated rainfall. This presents potential hazards that communities in these regions should prepare for.
Marine conditions are expected to be affected as well, with moderate waves predicted in the upper Andaman Sea, and potentially higher waves during thunderstorms. Consequently, marine operators have been advised to exercise caution and to steer clear of areas where thunderstorms occur.
